1948(昭和23)年11月30日、歌人の川田順が弟子の大学教授夫人とともに家出した。当時、川田順は68歳で、3年前から続いていた教授夫人との恋の行く末を悲観して、死を覚悟しての行動だったが、養子に連れ戻された。その後2人は結婚した。
川田が詠んだ
「墓場に近き老いらくの恋は恐るる何もなし」
から「老いらくの恋」が流行語になった。
