米ハリウッド商工会議所は６月２２日、２０１６年の映画部門の殿堂入りに俳優の故三船敏郎さんを選んだと発表した。世界的に業績のあったスターが対象で、ハリウッド中心部の通りに名前の入った星形のプレートが埋め込まれる。
三船さんは「七人の侍」「用心棒」「羅生門」「赤ひげ」など多くの黒澤明監督の作品に出演し、世界的に知られた。１９９７年に７７歳で亡くなった。
三船敏郎(1920年4月1日 -1997年12月24日）さんは全力投球で戦後を走り抜けた。
