8月18日は「高校野球記念日」
1915年8月18日、大阪の豊中球場で第1回全国中等学校優勝野球大会が開会した。
地区予選を勝ち抜いた10校が参加し、京都二中が優勝した。第10回から甲子園球場が会場になり、1948年から全国高校野球選手権大会となった。

The August 18 "High school baseball anniversary"
August 18, 1915, the first time the national secondary school championship baseball tournament has been opening in Osaka Toyonaka stadium.
It participated in 10 schools winners of the district qualifying, Kyoto No. 2 school in the won. Becomes the Koshien Stadium is the venue from the 10th, it became the National High School Baseball Championship from 1948.
