1936年の８月１１日、ベルリンオリンピックの女子200m平泳ぎ 決勝で、日本の前畑秀子が優勝した。 日本放送協会の河西三省アナウンサーによる「前畑がんば れ」と連呼した実況中継が日本中を沸かせた。

August 11th of 1936, in the women's 200m breaststroke final of the Berlin Olympics, Japan's Maehata Hideko was won. Live coverage, which chanted as "Maehata Ganbare" by the announcer Kawanishi of the Japan Broadcasting Association .
