１０月１４は「鉄道の日」

○10月14日は「鉄道の日」
1922(大正11)年に「鉄道記念日」として制定。 1872(明治5)年9月12日(新暦10月14日)、新橋駅～横浜駅を結んだ日本初の鉄道が開業した。
「鉄道記念日」のままでは国鉄色が強いということで、1994(平成6)年に 運輸省(現在の国土交通省)の提案により「鉄道の日」と改称し、JR以外の民 間鉄道も巻き込んだ記念日となった。
