○10月5日は「時刻表記念日」
1894(明治27)年10月5日、庚寅新誌社から日本初の本格的な時刻表『汽車 汽船旅行案内』が出版されました。 福沢諭吉の勧めにより手塚猛昌が発行したもので、イギリスの時刻表を参 考に、発車時刻や運賃のほか、紀行文等も掲載されていました。
