7月20日NHKBSプレミアム「アナザーストーリーズ 運命の分岐点 国立西洋美術館とル・コルビュジエ」を見る。 ○私は西洋美術館の常連です。1964年「ミロのビーナス展」では炎天下5時間並んで見ました。 ミロノビーナスを目前にした感激は今も忘れられない。 ○上野に世界遺産が誕生する。そんなニュースとともに、今、にわかに注目を集める、国立西洋美術館。設計したのは、２０世紀を代表する建築家、ル・コルビュジエ(1887〜1965)。その風貌からは、一癖も二癖もある人物だというのが見てとれる。そして、若き日の彼の呼び名は、「野心家」「異端児」「裏切り者」なんとも波乱の多い建築人生を歩んだ人物だった。しかし、その独特の存在感や建築思想は、多方面から攻撃の対象となると同時に、世界中の若手建築家たちを強烈に惹き付けた。そして、そのコルビュジエの影響を最も受けている国が、実は「日本」。今でこそ、世界レベルの建築家が何人もいる日本の建築界。そんな日本の建築がグッと“世界レベル”に伸び上がるきっかけとなった出来事こそ、ル・コルビュジエと３人の日本人弟子の出会いだった。 およそ６０年前、そんな師匠と弟子のコラボレーションで誕生した、国立西洋美術館。今回番組では、建築界のノーベル賞といわれる「プリツカー賞」受賞建築家、伊東豊雄がこの美術館をナビゲートする。 世界的にも、日本的にも、国家的にも、建築界的にも、何重にも意味をもつ国立西洋美術館。これは、ただの美術館ではない、未来成長型美術館である。 Tokyo's National Museum of Western Art added to world heritage list UNESCO committee on Sunday added the main building of the National Museum of Western Art in Tokyo and 16 other buildings designed by French architect Le Corbusier to the world body's list of cultural heritage sites. The buildings were recommended jointly by Japan and six other countries. The addition was approved at a meeting of the World Heritage Committee in Istanbul. The building of the Tokyo art museum, located at Ueno Park, became the 20th world heritage site in Japan and the first in the country's capital. It is the sole building in Japan designed by Le Corbusier, one of the most influential architects of the 20th century. The building, completed in 1959, features an open ground level known as piloti and spiraling walkways. It was built under Le Corbusier's concept of museum of unlimited growth that allows for a floor extension as the collection expands.

Tokyo's National Museum of Western Art added to world heritage list
UNESCO committee on Sunday added the main building of the National Museum of Western Art in Tokyo and 16 other buildings designed by French architect Le Corbusier to the world body's list of cultural heritage sites.
The buildings were recommended jointly by Japan and six other countries. The addition was approved at a meeting of the World Heritage Committee in Istanbul.
The building of the Tokyo art museum, located at Ueno Park, became the 20th world heritage site in Japan and the first in the country's capital. It is the sole building in Japan designed by Le Corbusier, one of the most influential architects of the 20th century.
