1月28日マイクロソフト創業者のビル・ゲイツ氏（５９）は「外国語を何も知らない自分は本当に愚かだと感じる」と発言した。
ビル・ゲイツ氏の言葉「高校でラテン語とギリシャ語を履修してＡ評価を取り、語彙の助けにはなっているはず。それでもフランス語かアラビア語か中国語ができたら良いと思う。」
