1954年 1月21 日。世界初の原子力潜水艦ノーチラス号が進水した。
排水量約3000t.名前は フランスのSF作家ジュール・ヴェルヌの小説『海底二万里』に登場する架空の潜水艦の名前から取られた。

January 21, 1954. The world's first nuclear submarine Nautilus was launched.
Drainage weight of about 3000t. The name was taken from the name of the fictional submarine that appeared in French  SF writer Jules Verne's novel "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea."
