ケネデイ大統領の言葉 昨日の敵は今日の友

ジョン・F・ケネデイ大統領の言葉「昨日の敵は今日の友」。この言葉は乃木希典大将の言葉でもあった。
1943年ジョン・F・ケネデイが第２次世界大戦中はアメリカ海軍魚雷艇艇 Patrol Torpedo boat 「PTー109」の艇長だった。
1943年8月、日本海軍の駆逐艦「天霧（あまぎり）」に衝突され、海に投げ出されてソロモン諸島の島に漂着した。
大統領は戦後、「天霧」の艦長だった花見弘平氏と連絡をとり、親交を深めました。ケネデイ大統領は花見氏に送られた手紙や写真を送った。写真には、大統領が直筆で「昨日の敵は今日の友」とメッセージを記しています。
