「仏教学者・中村元　植木雅俊」を読む。植木雅俊さんは中村元さんの弟子です。 中村 元（1912年 - 1999年）さんは、イン ド哲学者、仏教学者です。 ○中村元さんは主たる専門領域であるインド哲学・仏教思想にとどまらず、西洋哲学にも幅広い知識をもち思想にお ける東洋と西洋の融合を目指していた。外国語訳された著書も多数あります。 ○中村元さんは仏教哲学を研究するに際し、漢文、サンスクリット語、バーリ語、ベトナム語をマスターされました。 ○中村元さんはドイツ語が得意で、英語は上手でなかった。しかしアメリカのスタンフォード大学で講義しました。 ○中村元さんの言葉「語学を学ぶには、笑われる事を恥じたり、笑われる事を恐れない事が大切です。語学は笑われる事無しに上達しない。」 ○中村元さんは第２次世界大戦の空襲の際「仏教語大辞典」の原稿40000枚を紛失する。中村元さんは８年かかって原稿を書き直した。 --------------------- I read the book "Buddhist scholar Hajime Nakamura Masatoshi Ueki ".
