世界中で人気の卓上ゲーム「オセロ(リバーシ)」を考案、日本オセロ連盟会長を務めた長谷川五郎（はせがわ・ごろう）さんが２０日午後１１時７分、千葉県柏市の自宅で死去した。８３歳。葬儀・告別式は２３日午前、柏市で営まれた。 水戸市出身。戦後間もないころ、オセロの原型として囲碁を使った遊びを考案。玩具メーカーに持ち込んだ試作品を基に１９７３年に商品化され、世界中に広まった。 その後、日本オセロ連盟の会長に就任。水戸市での世界大会実施に向けて尽力し、２００６年に水戸市で開かれた世界大会に携わった。今年１１月には水戸市で２回目の開催が決まっていた。 Inventer of popular tabletop game "Othello (Reversi)", Goro Hasegawa died. Committed to the world tournament implementation in Mito, was involved in the World Congress was held in Mito in 2006. In November this year was decided a second time held in Mito.
